Silver Ten Guilder mix
The mix is a collection of Dutch ten Guilder coins issued between 1995 – 1999 with a portrait of Queen Beatrix. The reverse of these coins holds images of famous people of events from Dutch history. This includes coins with illustrations of Hugo de Groot, Jan Steen and a millennium themed Ten Guilder coin. You will receive coins with a total weight of 1 kilo and a netto weight of 800 grams pure silver. Be aware that all of these silver coins have been in circulation and therefore show signs of usage and dirt. This does not affect the value of these coins. The mix of coins is determined by our stock. It is therefore not possible to request a specific year.
History of the silver Dutch Ten Guilder coin
Unlike silver Dutch Ten Guilder coins from previous years that contained 72% silver, these coins minted between 1995 – 1999 contain a higher purity of 80% silver. Five different versions of the silver Ten Guilder coin were released in this period. And although it is often thought of as a commemorative coin, the silver Ten Guilder remained legal tender until the introduction of the Euro in 2002.
