The one troy ounce Australian Kangaroo coin is an Australian gold coin containing 31.103 and 999.9 grams of pure gold. Originally the 1 troy ounce Australian Kangaroo was called a Gold Nugget due to the image of a gold nugget, the largest ever found in Australia, which graced the coin’s back. This image remained until 1989 when it was changed to the image of the Australian kangaroo.
