Different from the original version of this gold coin, the American Eagle Type 2 has been updated on the reverse and now depicts a detailed representation of the eagle head, which is a design by Jennie Norris. The obverse of this remains unchanged from previous years and features the Augustus Saint-Gaudens illustration of “Walking Liberty”, the goddess of freedom.
