Features of the Type 2 American Eagle gold coin
The design of the American Eagle Type 2 gold coin differs from the original version on the reverse as it now features a very detailed depiction of the eagle head, a design by Jennie Norris. However, the obverse of this gold coin remains unchanged, depicting the Augustus Saint-Gaudens illustration of “Walking Liberty”, who is the goddess of freedom.
